A writing retreat sounds like a dream for most writers. This week’s giveaway, The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz, follows five writers on a unique writing retreat with an eerie twist when people start disappearing. Here’s the blurb:
Five attendees are selected for a month-long writing retreat at the remote estate of the controversial feminist horror writer, Roza Vallo. Alex, a struggling writer, is thrilled to receive this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Upon arrival, it is revealed that they must all complete an entire novel from scratch, and the best one will receive a life-changing seven-figure publishing deal. Alex’s long-extinguished dream now seems within reach and she is determined to win this seemingly impossible contest.
But then the women begin to disappear…
Trapped, terrified yet still desperately writing, it is clear there is more than a publishing deal at stake here. Alex must confront her own demons – and finish her novel – to save herself.
If you’d like to win your own copy of this book, simply tell us in ONE sentence where you’d like to go on a writing retreat and why. Our favourite three entries will win a copy!
Entries close midday (Syd/Melb time) Monday 20 March.
