I think I was a bit concerned about the weekly assignments, while working full time and doing other study. However, with time management, like anything, it all happened!

The tutor was friendly and encouraging. I enjoyed the assignments!

It has given me the tools and confidence to finally and slowly start my own side hustle freelance copywriting business

Highly recommend this course for anyone interested in copywriting. The course is easy to digest with weekly assignments and feedback to keep you on track.

I wanted to learn about copywriting as I am passionate about writing and creativity. I loved that this course was so accessible and easy to follow.

Mark was a great tutor and provided helpful insights about my copy. I found his feedback really valuable and gave me a lot of encouragement to keep writing.

I loved that this course had exercises to put into practice what we learned every week. It is a really good way to integrate all the knowledge received and to check if you are on the right track!

This course has given me the courage and confidence to pursue writing as a career.

It is an amazing way to kickstart your writing, easy to juggle with a busy schedule and top-notch, not only providing you with knowledge but also with feedback on your copy!

Nat's feedback was on point and she gave excellent examples of how to correct where I had gone wrong. She is an asset to the AWC. The professionalism in which she ran the course was second to none.

Although I wasn't sure how the student feedback component would work, I found it the best part of the whole course. It's one thing to read about how to write but seeing and reading feedback from others and giving thought to their works as well was an excellent way to learn.

I now know where I have been going wrong in my writing. Point of view is more important than I could have imagined. It was Nat's commentary that was a lightbulb moment for me regarding POV.

If you want to be a writer, you can't go wrong with a course run by the Australian Writers' Centre.

I feel like a new person and have a solid direction with my writing now. In 18-24 months' time I expect to have a decent draft for the Write Your Novel course.

I had started writing my novel but had stalled. This was the incentive to get back into writing.

Nat is awesome. She is entertaining and her feedback is hard-hitting. Especially entertaining when she acted out most of the facial expressions I'd included in a scene.

The Australian Writers' Centre has courses that suit most writers' needs. The tutors are approachable and know their stuff.

It went beyond what I thought world building was, and how to tie it into the story.

It has confirmed that the process I use to invent worlds is on the right path, but I have not been going far enough with the detail required to make the worlds created believable.

Very good for bringing your attention to the finer details required to write a good story.

Nat was able to pull my writing apart in a way that left me feeling positive about how much room I had to improve. Her humour in her video feedback was great fun.

I enjoyed the workshopping aspect - I learnt an enormous amount by pulling other people's work apart and now view my own work very differently.

I actually call myself a writer now!

I was so surprised on how much knowledge, tips & tricks I have picked up in the 5 weeks of completing this course. The added bonus modules were of great value too.

Bernadette is a great instructor, and Mark gave valuable feedback throughout.

I enjoyed the engaging video content throughout the modules.

I find using some of the formulas really helpful for my copywriting in everything I do now! From emails to text messaging. It's given me a better way of understanding how to communicate with purpose and clarity.

Less is more! It's more purposeful to use short clear and useful copy to get a message across. I have realised that I was using unnecessary fill in words/fluff and repetitive words.

Definitely go for it! Heaps of valuable content to take away that you can implement in many ways

I'll be back...

Absolutely blown away by this course and by how much I have learnt already.

Pamela was amazing and her feedback was outstanding. After taking her advice and going back over my work, I was so much happier with it. Incredible teacher.

I found it easy to submit assignments and interact with the teacher/classmates even though I'm on the other side of the world.

I've learnt so much from this course and have already applied my learnings to my first novel.

Outstanding course, highly recommend!

It provided plenty of good examples of articles and writing that illustrated the topics being discussed. The course material was short and snappy and easy to consume.

It's given me a greater understanding of the kinds of things I can write and I believe it will be profound as I put it into practice!

Always something new to learn. Just do it!

Very easy to follow and helped with clear explanations. Made me think more clearly about the way stories are put together properly.

Great courses, some long ones, some short ones, giving great advice in easy lessons. I highly recommend them and will possibly do more as well.

The course was well structured, had good supporting materials in the handouts, it was practical, I've loved it.

I find the rich narrative approach of CNF and the research element of journalism very alluring. As a former journalist and aspiring novelist, this course felt like a great way to combine my skills and interests.

As with all AWC courses, I really enjoyed the combination of practical, focused information and the examples given of other people who have succeeded in the genre. This course in particular is packed with interviews from the centre's So You Want To Be A Writer podcast series.

Research, plan, then get on with it - and always, always write with sensitivity toward other people's lives. And fact check. A lot.

Do it. AWC courses are the best. If you use what you learn you'll more than likely recoup your investment, and have a great time doing it.

Cathie was very supportive and constructive. I liked the way her comments were delivered by video and by the written word. This meant I could really hear the emphasis of her comments.

I really enjoyed learning about the structure of a picture book and how to incorporate point of view and emotion into that structure. This was all new to me.

I would say that it is essential to writing a picture book if you are a beginner.

The course was very comprehensive, easy to listen to and understand. I feel like Scrivener is going to help me every step of the way as I write.

The Australian Writers' Centre is a really fabulous organisation, very supportive of writers, and offering great learning opportunities.

The tutor was encouraging. The feedback was practical and I was able to apply it to the next module's exercise. Provided the framework for translating ideas into stories.

I have wanted to write children's picture books for years. I started myself several years ago and I still have the same ideas and now have the tools and guidance to seriously pursue this.

By module four I was able to apply the theory into practice and write in the style required for professional writing.

Pamela used some good examples and explained all the issues in a clear and concise way, making it easy to follow and understand.

I have a much clearer idea now after doing the course as to what to and what not to do and how to go about my research and my writing in the future.

Googling the character names I think up for my stories was a very useful tip and one I hadn't actually thought of doing but will be from now on.

I would highly recommend the Australian Writers' Centre for courses.

The tutor was lovely. Very encouraging. Gave some great tips. Loved the handouts.

I have more motivation and I have more writing tips under my belt.

I have already recommended the Centre because I follow them on Instagram and I am soo impressed about how many of their graduates get published!!!

Hopefully I will be one of those graduates 😊

I enjoyed Pamela's wealth of experience in providing examples and describing her points clearly and thoroughly. I got a lot of good information and ideas out of it.

I have some new ideas and new inspiration for my story. This especially happened during the Q&A session, so thanks for including that.

I always learn something from every course I attend and come away feeling excited about what I can do next to improve my book.

Thank you!

I enjoyed the specifics about an opening needing to be a scene, clear POV and teasing/breadcrumbs. Also, the examples at the end.

I am now going through my draft and going to bring forward a different scene to start.

I really appreciated the well thought out stages of the course, the interviews with Katrina and all the very useful practical advice from Valerie!

I enjoyed learning new skills, the engaging manner in which Valerie delivers the course and the excitement she conveys about this career.

I'm very excited to get started by developing ideas to pitch and begin writing (I've already thought of some along the way whilst I've been doing the course). I'm working out my next steps in what my next career looks like after a long career as an accountant and then in risk management. Travel writing as the next phase in my life would be wonderful. I really enjoy travelling and pushing myself to learn and grow. Let's go!

Excellent course material, well structured with a fabulously engaging presenter, who explores practical skills required to enable you to (hopefully) become a successful travel writer.
